Give me your ears all over, one by one, and let us swear our resolution: here lies the new EAR FARM, all are welcome. It is not finality, or the end result of months of hard work, but rather the beginning of something entirely different for us here at EAR FARM; and hopefully, for each of you too.

What started in 2005 as a simple template-based blog on Blogger has grown gradually over time to become what you see here today. The layout and artwork have changed (big ups to our pals at Destroy Space) but our focus remains the same: to bring music lovers together with great music in an entertaining and personal manner by delivering original writing, video, photo, and art content coupled with journalistic coverage of the best musicians from today, tomorrow, and yesterday. Here you’ll be just as likely to discover the next Vampire Weekend as you will be to learn about what reality TV shows David Berman watches. Perhaps you’ll discover that your favorite member of Bowerbirds is also an accomplished visual artist, or you just might learn how to steal music from anywhere on the entire internets. As we like to say, ‘music information helps grow ears’… I know it sounds like a pickup line, but I promise it’s the truth.

So if you’ve got a second, let me show you around:

Features - top left of the homepage, this is where our weekly columns such as 8+ will appear. To start, our schedule will be as follows: Monday = Countdown; Tuesday = Hit-or-miss; Wednesday = Wild Card; Thursday = 8+; Friday = Weekly Mix. Just like everything else on EAR FARM, this schedule is going to evolve and change over time. This week, our welcome post will be here until Thursday when we’ll kick off our features with an all new 8+.
Band of the Week - very simply, EAR FARM’s Band of the Week. Here you’ll find a feature on a different artist/band each week, often coupled with an exclusive interview, song(s), or video(s).
OPP - or, Other People’s Posts. Which is to say, this is where you’ll find daily links to music news and interesting posts from various publications and blogs.
EF Was There, Live Shows - we go to a lot of concerts. And when we do, we like to take pictures and video and write about them. Here is where you’ll find our live music content.
Crop Rotation - a catch-all really… a blog within the blog. In this section, you’ll find all manner of posts from lists to mini-features on up and coming bands to articles on music that’s featured in TV shows to coverage of the Brooklyn Bridge’s musical legacy to EAR FARM history lessons and much much more.
Videos - curated music videos as well as an increasing amount of EAR FARM produced video content. The music video is dead. Long live the music video!

Yep, that’s about the size of it. Rewind it over and over, and memorize it. There are a few things I didn’t cover, so take a look around for yourself… as I’ve mentioned, there’s lots more to come in the near future. In the meantime, ears up!
