They’ve been our Band of the Week, they’ve released one of our favorite albums of 2008, and now they’re finally playing some damn shows in New York. It’s been a long time coming, but EF faves Bombadil are in town and ready to bring their carnival of musical eccentricities to both Brooklyn and Manhattan.

Turns out the band actually played a show at Spike Hill in Brooklyn last week, but hey I was out of town so cut me some slack. The good news is they’re here TONIGHT at Trash Bar (11pm set time) and will also be playing a free show at Rockwood Music Hall on Thursday (7:00pm set time).

And if you can’t make it out this week, fear not; after traipsing cross-country a few more times the band will be back in New York in late August with dates lined up at the Living Room and Hank’s Saloon. I mean really, look at all these dates, it would have been kind of rude of them to deny the five boroughs altogether now wouldn’t it?
