What’s hot right now? Yankee Stadium nostalgia, embossed leather frame bags, making sculptures with Barbies, the iPhone 3G, sweatshop-free Canadian clothing company Blank, making Frances Bean cry, the opening of The Dark Knight, Red Espresso, etc. etc. ad infinitum… it’s tough to keep up with it all sometimes. We sure can’t. However, one thing that we’ve got covered is the question of ‘what’s hot?’ in the world of music videos. Check them out below. Read more…

We recently scrolled through a photo slideshow of the various masks worn over the years by the members of Slipknot…CREEPY. Good to know that not all masked musicians share such morbid leanings when it comes to facial garb (GWAR aside of course). Below, take a look at some videos from some of our masked favorites and try to get the Pinhead unpleasantness out of your head. Good luck. Read more…

As you may have inferred from last year’s half-year Best of ‘08 roundup, I’ve become smitten with Wolf Parade’s latest opus At Mount Zoomer. I can’t get enough of it, I need more of it, I want to stretch it out, pound it thin, toss it in the air and put it in the oven to make sure it will always stay this fresh and tasty to my eardrums. So far so good - looks like it’s shelf life has been extended indefinitely after watching Spencer, Dan and the gang rip through a handful of tracks from Zoomer last summer at Montreal’s La Sala Rossa (well done brockmasterflex). The countdown for their Terminal 5 shows is officially on…. Read more…

Dear Prince,

When you busted out a sexxed-up version of Radiohead’s “Creep” at Coachella a few months back, you weren’t the first one to ever cover a popular song, nor will you be the last. Fact is, even Kermit’s tried his hand at this particular ode to self loathing; the difference between that version and yours is that he’s at least willing to SHARE the fruits of his labor with others. Here are just a few examples - good and bad - of others willingly spreading the “Creep”. We ask you to reconsider your “Creep” embargo and give us the goods….everyone else is doing it: Read more…
