Check out the brand new video for “Mr. Pie Eyes” from Bucks County’s favorite band of merry psychesters, Drink Up Buttercup. The track will be released on November 10th as a UK 7″ single on Make Mine.

Now about the video…have you ever been kidnapped and dragged to a dank cellar only to be forced to drink Jameson and play Russian roulette with an NES Zapper gun? No? Well, you can at least approximate the experience by watching below and absorbing the charmingly surreal affair; it’s definitely worth repeated viewings (remember how you used to have to blow on those NES cartridges and push them up and down a thousand times before they’d work?). And as a bonus, we’ve got a new DuB track for you below as well from their forthcoming full length. Oh and stay tuned in the coming days for some EF-related Drink Up Buttercup news…..good stuff awaits!

Dear Manhattan and Brooklyn: Dead Confederate is in town tonight and tomorrow to MELT YOUR FACES. Tonight the band will be playing Mercury Lounge, tomorrow night they’ll be hitting up Late Night with Conan O’Brien before heading to Union Hall. Both of these venues are entirely too small to contain the epic rock which will spring forth from Dead Confederate and blow your heads clean off. Don’t believe me? Check out this video we shot of the band opening up for R.E.M. in Austin and send an email to us (mail at earfarm dot com) if you’d like two tickets to the show tonight at Mercury Lounge. The winner will be chosen at random.

Lookie what we found this past weekend while dodging Rickrolls on YouTube….some wonderful live videos of Beck performing solo, all taken by the BBC back in 2003 at Union Chapel. Kinda makes us want to venture up to the United Palace Theatre this week (where he’ll be playing with MGMT on Wednesday, Thursday, AND Friday)….

Thom Yorke recently announced that the fan-made video below, for the song “Reckoner”, had been selected as the “official video” for the song. Why? Because it’s rad. Watch for yourself.

Yeah yeah, we know, so the release date Of Montreal’s new album Skeletal Lamping has gotten pushed back a few weeks to October 21st. That doesn’t mean you have to necessarily deprive yourself of Kevin Barnes and crew altogether though, now does it? Of course not, and we’ve got just the cure for you: a collection of past Of Montreal videos, all excellent, and all for your viewing enjoyment.

Besides, the band had good reason to delay things, what with their elaborate packaging taking longer than expected. As they explained recently in their blog: Read more…

The web was a-buzzin’ yesterday with the unveiling of the official video for the theme from the new James Bond film Quantum of Solace, featuring Jack White in rumpled tux (just like Bond after a hard day’s killing) and an ever-elegant Alicia Keys. The desert background reminds me a bit of that Limp Bizkit video for the soundtrack to Mission Impossible 2 - which as you might guess is not a good thing - but the song itself is not bad at all. As a bonus, we threw in the Coke Zero commercial that also appropriates “Another Way To Die” - and that also allegedly pissed Jack White off in the process - as well as the official trailer for Quantum of Solace, which hits theaters November 14th. We like it when the good stuff comes straight to our inboxes. And rather than keep them to ourselves, we like to share. So check it out below, four of our favorite recent videos that make wading through all that spam worthwhile. Pay it forward…

Creators of one of our favorite albums from 2006 - The Trials of Van Occupanther - Midlake has been keeping fairly quiet lately. Hopefully that just means they’re squirreled away in the studio putting the finishing touches on another masterpiece, right? In any case, we’re trying to sate ourselves by revisiting selections from the excellent series of videos that sprang forth from Van Occupanther. Enjoy… Read more…

All signs point to Bishop Allen getting completely Garden State‘d a la the Shins due to their prominent role in the upcoming film Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist. Congrats to them and the new attention that certainly awaits….this role certainly seems a bit different from BA frontman Justin Rice’s previous film work as the patron saint of mumblecore. Check out their video for “Middle Management” - from 2007’s The Broken String - comprised entirely of footage from Nick & Norah as well as upcoming Bishop Allen tour dates below. Alright!

To celebrate the recently announced “20th Anniversary Tour” of Billy, D’Arcy, James Iha, and Jimmy Chamberlain (oh well at least half of the Pumpkins will be on board), we’ve put together a little video retrospective. Because let’s face it, if the Pumpkins aren’t all that live, their videos have always been pretty top notch. Tour dates after the videos…. Read more…

For your viewing pleasure, check out Department of Eagles - the duo of Daniel Rossen and Fred Nicolaus - perform the excellent title track from their forthcoming sophomore album In Ear Park. Shot live in DUMBO’s Atlantic Sound studio, the performance is preceded by Daniel talking a bit about the actual park from which the record (and song) got it’s EF-approved moniker. Good stuff, take a look -

Kutshers Country Resort won’t know what hit them this weekend when All Tomorrow’s Parties moves in for a three-day residency starting, well, kind of right now I guess. Below is a mix of videos by artists scheduled to play this weekend, because if you’re like us and can’t get out to the Catskills, there’s got to be some sort of consolation prize, right? And yes, we’re aware that a few of these artists will be performing albums in their entirety and that perhaps certain songs below don’t reflect that specific album, but hey they rock nonetheless, so here we go:

My Bloody Valentine - “Only Shallow” (above)

Thurston Moore - “Ono Soul” (above)

Dinosaur Jr. - “Feel The Pain” (above)

Tortoise - “Salt the Skies” (above)

Mercury Rev - “Goddess On A Highway” (above)
